In this sequel to “Superman/Batman: Public Enemies,” a giant Kryptonite meteorite which threatened Earth that was destroyed in the previous film now rains down on Earth as Kryptonite shards. Much like shooting stars, the shattered rock are damaging property all over the globe. When one large shard crashes into Gotham Bay, Batman (Kevin Conroy) ventures out to investigate, he discovers a Kryptonian space vessel with a mysterious young girl who has powers that are equal to, or maybe even greater than Superman’s. When Batman tells Superman (Tim Daly) the news he is surprised and wonders how the woman survived the destruction of the meteorite.
The woman is Kara Zor-El (Summer Glau), the cousin of Superman and he believes that she was encased in the meteorite all this time. But Kara is having trouble remembering anything and doesn’t have good control over her super powers. In a few days she is able to communicate in English, but doesn’t understand many of the terms she hears.
Wonder Woman (Susan Eisenberg) and Batman agree that Kara should be brought to Paradise Island in the Amazon by Superman where she can be taught how to use her powers by Wonder Woman and her sisters. The training goes well and soon Kara is able to use her powers accurately and at will.
But someone else is aware of Kara’s presence on Earth: Darkseid (Andre Braugher), the demented villain of the war planet Apokolips is furious that Superman now has a new protégé. Darkseid has been looking for a new captain for The Furies, his royal guard and decides that Kara would be perfect. He devises a scheme to bring Kara’s untapped powers under his control. Working his plan precisely Darkseid kidnaps her and begins to brainwash her, convincing Kara to be his champion.
Frustrated by Darkseid’s success at capturing Kara, now Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman have no other choice but to team with Darkseid’s former captain Big Barda (Julianne Grossman), to launch an attack at the gates of Apokolips and bring Kara back to Earth by force. But Darkseid is already preparing for their arrival and looking forward to the combat with Superman his arch rival.
