In this romantic comedy, the classic story of an ugly duckling transforming into a beautiful swan gets a modern romantic twist when an free-wheeling photographer finds himself in debt to a cunning gambler. Rex (Scott Elrod) is one of the many photographers of high fashion models, but he is high demand because of his excellent work and charming personality. Unfortunately behind his smile is a painful secret; he’s in debt up to his eyeballs and the man holding his IOU, Albert (Carlos Leon) is becoming increasingly impatient to be paid.
Rex like to take his lunch at the local fish market and notices that they have hired a new waitress, Dessi (Elika Portnoy) who is extremely shy. But she is very nervous when she comes to take his order and then spills water on him as well. After apologizing several times, Rex leaves and meets Albert again who now given him an ultimatum to produce the cash or be prepared for trouble. Desperate to find a way to avoid additional problems, so when Albert makes him a bet that if he can transform an ordinary woman into a fashion model with a couple of months he will forgive the debt Rex jumps at the chance.
Now all Rex has to do is convince Dessi to go along with the plan No one has much confidence in Dessi’s ability; she’s clumsy, awkward and physically out of shape. Rex enlists some of his model friends to show Dessi the lifestyle of how model’s eat and dress, slowly Dessi begins to change and within a few weeks everyone is amazed at the difference. Although Rex is focused on accomplishing the goal to win the bet, he finds himself becoming more attracted to Dessi as she begins to become more confident in herself. Soon they realize that they have more than a business relationship. But when Dessi learns about the bet, Rex has to find a way to convince Dessi that his love is genuine.
