When the Internet dating craze reached offline as “speed dating” meetups, Guido (Filippo Timi), a former cop, thought that finding a woman to spend time with would not be a problem. But after countless attempts, Guido decided that he must be the unluckiest guy in Turin. But as fate would have it, just when he had made up his mind to give it one last shot and then give up looking, Sonia (Kseniya Rappoport), walked into his life.
An immigrant from Slovenia, Sonia works as a chambermaid at a high-end hotel. After the initial meeting full of sparks at the speed dating meeting place the two decide to see where their friendship will lead. Several dates follow and the attraction between the two becomes stronger. After all of the questions have been asked, all that was left was to see if their mental chemistry would be matched or surpassed when their physical chemistry was put to the test. A passionate romance begins and the two plan a romantic weekend getaway to the countryside.
Sonia is just as pleased to have found Guido because she too was a veteran of the speed dating scene and had become just as frustrated by the men she had met before Guido. She is longing to have a stable relationship in her life to fill the void that had been empty for a long time. But unfortunately Sonia’s past was not filled with all pleasant memories, there were secrets that she had not shared with Guido, hoping she would never have to.
As Guido and Sonia settle in to enjoy a cozy evening, suddenly disaster strikes with a robbery bringing back Sonia’s mysterious past with violence and intrigue. Now the new lovers find themselves caught up in a dangerous situation where murder, deception and fear are the major players. Unexpectedly everything in Sonia’s life is turned upside down and nothing is what it appears to be anymore.
Desperate to find the truth about the events that are happening, both Sonia and Guido will have to face life-altering events that may destroy both their new romance as well as their lives before the truth is discovered.
