Eastern culture and Western ways when it comes to love and marriage are a bit hard to reconcile for Harish aka Harry (Rahul Rai). Harry is a young Indian student who believes he has the solution to happiness; marry young and have the marriage arranged. Harry is a bit cynical about the ideas of romance and finding true love. The basis for his opinion comes from his own parents who fell in love and then fell out of love and got a divorce. He believes that over time in an arranged marriage love develops naturally and because the marriage is based on compatibility factors, the chances of divorce are small. But although he is cynical about love, he firmly believes that marriage is a worthy institution and should be embraced at an early age and last for a lifetime.
To help him in his quest for the best woman suited to him to marry, Harry enlists his Uncle Deepak (Kanti Pandya), and his parents are surprised to learn that Harry has made the decision to have his marriage arranged rather than wait and find the right woman with his heart. But Harry’s mind is made up and although he is quite content with his decision, a chance meeting with Theresa (Stefanie Estes) turns into friendship that complicates his life. As Harry and Theresa get to know each other, the attraction is obvious, but Harry constantly reminds Theresa that they are only friends-nothing more.
When Uncle Deepak telephones Harry with news of finding his bride-to-be, he’s excited and shares the news with Theresa. But even though she was aware of Harry’s intentions, she could stop her emotions and she wanted to be more than friends with him. Harry begins his long distance courtship with Nita (Freishia Bomanbehram) who indulges him with all of the sweet things he wanted to hear, but after Theresa’s reaction, Harry starts thinking seriously about his feelings for her as the date for his wedding draws closer. Could his parents be right-is his happiness with Theresa?
