The Stunning Gina Lollobrigida - La Lollo
Gina Lollobrigida is a well reputed Italian actress and photojournalist. She was born in the year 1927 in Rome, Italy. Being the daughter of a furniture manufacturer, she decided to become an actress and prove her skills. In her youth, she did some modeling and participated in several beauty pageants successfully. She was a very beautiful girl and was destined for fame from a very early age.
Lollobrigida started her film career in Italy. She met and married Milko Skofic and had a son name Milko Jr. She remained married to for 22 years and got divorced in 1971. Gina’s Hollywood debut was with a film by John Huston called “Beat the Devil (1953).” As Gina became more popular nationally, she became known as the most beautiful women in the world. Her fame and reputation started to increase as she was seen on the big screen.In 1955, the stunning actress had a role in "La Donna piu bella del mondo". This is how she gained the nickname La Lollo. There is even a head of lettuce called lollo in honor of her signature hair style. She had short choppy hair that reminded people of a tossed salad. This hair style was very famous and is still used as an example for hair styling.
Gina Lollobrigida also won awards for her remarkable acting. She was in a film with Rock Hudson called “Come September (1961)”. The movie won a Golden Globe as the World’s Favorite Film. In the 1970s, she began to accept lesser roles because she wanted to take a break and pursue other talents. Gina was an excellent photographer and sculptor. This was also her passion and she had studied photography and sculpting in school.Lollo did not come back to American television until 1984 when she did “Falcon Crest”. She also appeared in a few films in the 1990s. Gina was also a corporate executive for fashion and cosmetics companies. She enjoyed acting but her true passion was always photography and sculpting.
Gina will always be cherished for her excellent performances. She was a sex symbol for all her fans around the globe. The actress still sometimes make appearances on television. She devotes most of her time to photography and sculpture. As an artist, Gina has done well in photography. She had the opportunity to photograph Paul Newman once. She also had her photography published.Gina Lollobrigida is still living in Italy. She tried her hand at politics but was unsuccessful. She still makes appearances on American television but there are very few chances that people will see her acting anymore. She now focuses on her photography and other creative outlets. Gina will always be remembered for her roles in Italy and America.
