The movie “They Call Me Trinity” was one of the most unique films of the 1970’s, because of the integrated combination of action and comedy. The overall effect made it a wonderful movie. Due to its interesting story plot, it was able to maintain the interest of the audience throughout the 109 minute runtime.

This is not just a normal western cowboy movie that only concentrates on the fighting scenes to get rid of the Mexicans. But it also focuses on the teamwork of the two brothers. This provides viewers understanding of the true meaning of what brotherhood is all about. It outlines the stories of two unrelated men who worked hand in hand to help the Mormons against the Mexicans.

This film does not contain too many violent scenes, but only consists of basic fist fighting shots. Therefore, it is suitable for viewers of all ages, including children. Besides that, the film can also be called a comedy as there are many scenes which make viewers burst out in laughter. One particular part of the film is very hilarious. It happens when Trinity falls in love with the two Mormon sisters, and he thought he could happily get married to the two girls. However, after he found out that he had to work in a farm after getting married, he immediately dropped the idea. It defined his character as a flirtatious as well as an intelligent man.

This movie is actually shot in Italian but has also been dubbed in English language. Therefore, there is some dialogue that varies from the Italian version. However, the general meanings of both versions are more or less the same. The movie is certainly interesting and can be thoroughly enjoyed.

“Beat the Devil”

The film features very dry content as it mainly focuses on five people who wanted to lay their hands on the uranium land in Africa. There is basically no climax and it stays monotonous as the story proceeds. As a result, the general effect of this movie is pure boredom. Even though the movie is around 88 minutes long, it feels very lengthy.

Viewers expected more excitement and thrills. On top of that, the movie belongs to the comedy genre but there is simply no sense of humor revealed throughout. Many thought that the story would be hilarious and comic but nothing appeared to be so.

It is rather difficult to classify the movie into any category as it is more of a general one. There are some scenes that focus on love and romance; some scenes that concentrate on action while others are humorous. But the sad part is it did not trigger any excitement in the audience. This movie does not have a main theme or specific aspect that it revolves around. However, on a lighter note, there are some parts that are interesting such as the conversational dialogue between the couple on the steamer. Overall, it was a great novel with an intriguing storyline that was remade into a very bad movie.

Italian western

In these Italian Western movies, the director was usually Italian assisted by Italian-Spanish staff for technical work, and a group of actors who were Italian and Spanish. At times the movies had popular stars but there were occasions when fading stars were also casted. These films were shot at economical locations to keep the budget reasonable and low. The most adopted themes in these movies consisted of the Mexican Revolution.

There were many great movies that were made under the category of Italian Westerns. The most famous and perhaps archetypal films were the "Man with No Name" trilogy (or "Dollars Trilogy") which was directed by the well-known Sergio Leone. He casted in his movie actors like Clint Eastwood with the musical combination of Ennio Morricone: “A Fistful of Dollars” (1964), “For a Few Dollars More” (1965), and “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly” (1966). Later after the trilogy, Leone became motivated to make “Once Upon a Time in the West”. This movie portrayed the similar style of Leone movies along with musical Morricone. The talented director has been recognized as one of the most skilled film makers and people have admired him for his work.

Most of the films made in this category were low budget and were not too glamorous except a few. An all time favorite at that time was the “Tabernas Desert of Almería", that was produced at the three major studios of Texas Hollywood, Western Leone and Mini Hollywood.

“Tierra brutal” (1961) was the first movie which qualified as an Italian western. The cast included the combination of various American actors like Richard Basehart. The movie also featured Folclóricas Paquita Rico and María Granada who were Spanish. It was basically directed by Michael Carreras, who was known for his expertise in directing horror films in English.

In 1966 “Django” by Sergio Corbucci was one of the most internationally acclaimed Spaghetti westerns ever. Most of the Americans could recognize the movie through its frequent appearance in reggae songs, as the movie was a smash-hit in Jamaica. The director usually produced gut-churning violence, and “Django” was no exception. In 1967, “Days of Anger” was another great film in the genre by Tonino Valerii. The movie included Lee Van Cleef; the cowboy actor. Nevertheless, Cleef had a much darker role to play. In 1966, “Massacre time” by Lucio Fulzi is another movie under the western Italians.

Although the Italian westerns did not receive significant recognition from the audience, they still managed to be creative and realistic. Today this genre has almost faded out but some producers still prefer to call their movies Italian westerns. Some may argue that this genre exists in a more modernized manner today.

In the late 1950’s, the use of such an advanced technological device to film a movie was considered a miracle. Therefore, the pictures and movie effects of using the CinemaScope are certainly fantastic, especially when there are underwater scenes and shots of coral reef, depicted in this diving competition story.

The images and pictures of the entire underwater world are very clear. Furthermore, it leads viewers to a greater understanding of how life survives at great depths under water. During that period, capturing this natural underworld was a perfect example of out of the box thinking, with an idea that was considered completely fresh and unique.

Besides that, the use of the wide-angle lens further enhances the beauty of the Florida Gulf coast, where this Beneath the 12-mile Reef was shot. It gives viewers the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful and gorgeous sceneries of this place, especially the sunrise.

In addition to showing the intense competition between the two families for fishing on the coast, this movie also depicts romance and deep love between the young generations among the two families who view each other as enemies. Despite the opposition from both of their parents to their relationship the lovers still pursue their romance.

The remarkable and appealing movie had enticed many viewers to watch it again and again. It contains a mixture of all kinds of emotions such as love, romance, anger, hatred, and enmity.

Night of the Living Dead

The main plot of this movie was to create a general idea of how the zombies can be menacing and threatening to the living humans. Therefore, the main purpose of the movie to create horror and fear amongst the viewers is tactfully established.

However, the movie’s visual effects are not very fantastic. This is probably due to the fact that this was a black and white film. Maybe the director wanted to keep the costs down to the minimum. Due to these reasons, the effects were rather average, as the real blood color when the zombies fed on the human flesh could not be seen clearly.

The story explains that the zombies were alive due to the radiation effect as a result of a satellite failure. For the time, a satellite failure was considered a technologically advanced explanation. On the other hand, the poor movie effects did not seem to match with its high technology narration.

Furthermore, the zombies were actually not very frightening or terrifying as shown in the movie. They were simply just humans who looked listless and lifeless, without any sharp fangs or sharp claws attached while they attacked the humans. Generally speaking, this movie has achieved its aim to instilling the fear factor and horror in the viewers mind. Those who love to watch horror movies must have enjoyed the movie but still there were not too many positive reviews about the movie. The reason can be the low cost of the film or simply maybe it was shot in black and white. However the movie is a classic horror film and deserve to be watched by all horror movie fans.
