A billion dollars in gold bars are being moved to the Mint by train. Lois goes along to write about the story. Masked men chase after the train and wrestle the conductor and an armed guard off the train and it continues on out of control. A station tries to signal the train but gets no response and warns other stations and Clark at the Daily Planet hears about it. He changes and goes to work on keeping the train on the tracks as a series of explosions threatens to derail it. The criminals use a bomb to finally blow up the engine, but Superman rescues Lois and delivers the gold on time.
