The Daily Planet finances an underground exploration and Lois and Clark accompany the man Henderson into the caves. Lois and Henderson set out in a boat and plan to meet up with Clark later on. While unloading the boat it floats away causing them to chase it, when Clark looks for them later he cannot find them. He continues on and finds they have been captured by half bird half human creatures and are about to be turned into statues. After changing and saving Lois and Henderson he throws a bomb to close off the caves and contain the strange creatures. Back at the Daily Planet Perry burns the story and tells Lois no one would ever believe it.
