One of the first adaptations of Robert Louis Stevenson's classic book. John Barrymore plays the double role of Dr. Henry Jekyll, a famous and benevolent doctor, and his alter-ego, the vicious and cruel Mr. Hyde, who takes Jekyll's body when he drinks a strange portion. In his way appear two women: Jekyll's fianceé Millicent (Martha Mansfield) and the singer Gina (Nita Naldi). In order to play Hyde, Barrymore uses the trick of dislocating his jaw, wich changed his appereance, and gave us a impressive on-screen transformation.
